The Biggest Misconception about Dog Training
You may have been lead to believe hiring a dog trainer to work with your dog once a week can magically fix all of your dog's bad behaviors.
There are two problems with this:
Problem #1: Your dog needs to see YOU as the leader, not a trainer:
Have you ever heard someone say "My dog works well for the trainer, but as soon as the trainer leaves, my dog still won't listen to ME"?
Professional dog trainers are very good at working with dogs and can get your dog to respond to THEM. The problem is it teaches your dog that the TRAINER is their leader and not YOU.
