Success Stories From People Who Were Where You Are Now

These aren’t just feel-good stories. These are from families who felt overwhelmed, stuck, and unsure if they would be forced to make a hard decision to rehome or behaviorally euthanize their dog.

Whether the issue was biting, shutdowns, extreme reactivity, or serious fear, these families came to us after other methods failed.

If you want a closer look at how we work, and what’s truly possible with the right plan, start with these. These are just a few of the many lives changed through our Mind & Manners™ Method.

Gracie

When Steve and his wife adopted Gracie Jane from a local rescue, they knew she needed more than just love. Saved from a rural kill shelter, she was gentle and sweet, but overwhelmed by her new environment. Gracie Jane showed signs of fear, timidity, and destructive behavior, and her new family wasn’t sure how to help her adjust.

They Were Dealing With:

  • Timidity and fear-based behaviors

  • Destructive habits in the home

  • A dog who hid during training, unsure how to engage

How We Helped:

  • Expert guidance: We immediately adapted the plan, suggesting outdoor sessions when Gracie Jane shut down indoors

  • Practical, simple techniques: Focused on confidence-building, engagement, and helping Gracie Jane settle into her new home

  • Supportive coaching: Maggie’s patient, compassionate approach helped both the humans and the dog feel at ease

The Result:

Gracie Jane went from hiding in corners to becoming more comfortable, confident, and connected to her new family. What started as a nervous beginning turned into a success story; proving that with the right tools and guidance, training can be life-changing.

"We were worried virtual training might not be effective, but it absolutely was. They helped us transform Gracie Jane into a more relaxed, happy, and trusting dog.”

Charley, a Springer Spaniel, was sweet and loving, until fear-based aggression took over. Behind closed doors, she had become reactive toward strangers... and eventually her own family.

They Were Dealing With:

  • Aggression toward family and strangers

  • Other trainers failed or recommended euthanasia

  • Her owners were heartbroken and out of options

How We Helped:

  • Thorough case review: Over an hour spent investigating Charley’s history, triggers, medications, and environment

  • Key discovery: A hormone medication for incontinence was likely worsening her aggression

  • Custom plan: 3-week board and train with our founder, Chelsey, in a calm, in-home setting, not a kennel

  • Ongoing support: Daily updates, video communication, and step-by-step coaching for the family

The Result:

Charley came home calmer, more confident, and able to trust again. Her family, once facing the unthinkable, just welcomed a new baby, something they never imagined could be safe. Charley is now the gentlest, most loving big sister.  She’s proof that the right dog training can save lives.

“We truly believe the outcome would have been different if we had gone with anyone else. Command Canine gave our dog her life back.”

Tucker

Sweet and goofy on the surface, Tucker’s behavior at home was anything but easy. His family quickly found themselves overwhelmed by a growing list of serious behavior issues, and no idea how to fix them.

They Were Dealing With:

  • Leash reactivity and territorial aggression

  • Biting family members

  • Fear of having to return him to the shelter... and what that may mean for him

How We Helped:

  • Thorough case review: Chelsey listened closely, asked the right questions, and gave the family a realistic view of what was possible

  • Environmental enrichment and problem-solving games to build autonomy and reduce frustration

  • Custom plan: 3-week board and train focusing on obedience and behavioral training

  • Ongoing support: Daily updates, video communication, and step-by-step coaching for the family

The Result:
Obedience created the structure and predictability he desperately needed. From there we began to work on behavioral training and his reactivity, insecurity, and distrust started to fade. He became more confident, more relaxed, and more connected to his people. His family now has the tools to navigate challenges, stay in control, and de-escalate situations before they spiral.

"To say Chelsey transformed Tucker would be an understatement. Tucker is more confident, less reactive, and more trusting of us and our family than he ever was before."

Ollie

When Ollie’s family brought him home, they expected a playful, wild puppy, not a dog who bit hard out of frustration, overstimulation, and confusion.

They Were Dealing With:

  • Biting, not nipping: serious reactions when overstimulated

  • Emotional dysregulation:  a dog stuck in overdrive

  • Frustration: traditional dog training tips weren’t working

  • Doubt: they started wondering if they had made a mistake

How We Helped:

  • Immediate relief with tools to stop the biting and manage overstimulation

  • Behavior Modification, not just corrections, addressing root causes, not symptoms

  • The Mind & Manners™ Method, tailored to Ollie’s triggers and sensitivity

  • Long-term strategies to build coping skills, emotional regulation, and real connection

The Result:

Today, Ollie is still goofy and energetic, but now, he can handle his big emotions, listen to his family, and thrive in a home where he’s loved and understood.

“We can’t imagine our home and life without him in it.”

Copper

After a heartbreaking experience with another dog, Copper’s family was understandably cautious about trusting someone with a 3-week board and train. They interviewed multiple trainers, but it only took one call with us to know this experience would be different.

They Were Dealing With:

  • Past trauma and heartbreak from a previous dog’s experience

  • Desire for a trainer who combined professionalism with real compassion

  • Clear goals, but no idea how to get there safely and successfully

How We Helped:

  • Deep empathy and care: we took time to hear their past experience and make sure every detail of Copper’s stay felt safe and supported

  • Custom 3-week board and train: Copper received fully customized training in a structured, loving home, not a loud or chaotic kennel

  • Client coaching: we didn’t just train Copper, we walked the family through every command, routine, and situation with hands-on practice

  • Ongoing support: Daily updates, video communication, and step-by-step coaching for the family

The Result:

Copper returned home not only more obedient, but also more confident, connected, and responsive. His family felt fully prepared to keep the progress going, thanks to the hands-on support and coaching they received.

"When you put your heart into what you love to do, it shows. Chelsey and Tony make an amazing team, and this experience was everything we hoped for and more.”
